This summer I was introduced to an amazing book, The Great Behavior Breakdown, by Bryan Post. I have to say it has been one of my favorite books that I’ve read concerning behavior.
Bryan Post did an amazing job bringing alive the most difficult behaviors that parents face, especially parents of foster and adopted children. In The Great Behavior Breakdown, Post addresses the root problem and symptoms of lying, stealing, defiance, incessant chatter, and over 20 of the most difficult and challenging behaviors. He then presents simple, step-by-step guidance for each behavior that brings change and healing to those children we love so dearly.
Since I’ve come in contact with this book, I have recommended it to numerous friends, family, and counselors. I want to encourage you to read it, too! I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

My name is Melodie. I have been married for 33 years to my high school sweetheart, Audie. Together we have 6 children (3 bio and 3 adopted) and 5 grandchildren. Currently, I am a Professional Engineer (aka Homemaker). I've worn many hats in my 53 years and survived several difficult seasons. However, God is faithful and is my Guiding Light. He has blessed me beyond measure and is responsible for giving me the desires to "know more". Therefore, I will admit, I own more books than I should, searched more internet sites than is healthy, and attended more conferences than is probably permitted. However, my love for people and wanting to help others has been my driving force.
